Schlomo the Blue-nosed Reindeer
When I was little, my grandma and I re-wrote Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer for Chanukkah:
You know Eli and Nathan and Itzruch and Shelomi
Malkah and Moishe and Yehedis and Hymie
But do you recall the most kosher reindeer of all?
Schlomo the blue-nosed reindeer (reindeer!)
Had a very lichtic nose (like a menorah!)
And if you ever saw it (saw it!)
You would even say it glows (like the Festival of Lights! ….*awkward pause*)
All of the other menchen (menchen!)
Used to kvetch and call him names (like schmagheggie!)
They never let poor Schlomo (Schlomo!)
Join in any mischpoch games (like dreidel!)
Then one kelt Channukah night,
Zayda came to say (Oy Veh!)
“Schlomo with your nuz so lichtic,
will you schlepp my Caddilac tonight?” (Sha!)
Then how the mischpoch liebed him (liebed him!)
As he shouted out with glee (Shalom!)
Schlomo the blue-nosed reindeer (reindeer!)
You’ll go down in history (Like Judah, the Maccabeeeeee!)
